Cuttack: SCB Medical College & Hospital authorities here today rubbished media reports over bursting of gas pipeline of the gas plant attached to the Cardiothoracic Department of the hospital.
“It has been misreported that the gas pipeline had burst. There has been no bursting of any pipeline. The panel board of the gas plant of the Cardiothoracic Department has developed defects,” clarified Dr Bhubananda Moharana, Emergency Officer, SCB Medical College & Hospital today.
Dr Moharana informed that on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday at 12PM-1AM, the panel board of the gas plant attached to the Cardiothoracic Department developed snags.
“The panel board company was informed and its technical personnel are working on it and it is very likely that it will be ready today and we can take up elective surgery of the patient tomorrow whose surgery which was scheduled for today was postponed,” said Dr Moharana.
Informing that every gas plant has an emergency system which works immediately in the event of a snag in the main plant, Dr Moharana said that they wanted to be 100% sure since the panel board had developed defects.
He added that there were no patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and of the patients of the Cardiothoracic have been shifted or have any problems.
