**Bhubaneswar: ** The PCC Disciplinary Committee has served show-cause notices on Thursday to a PCC secretary, youth and student leaders following the ruckus created by them before AICC Odisha-in-charge on Wednesday over his absence during the cremation of Lulu Mohapatra.
The Committee has asked the PCC secretary and the young leaders to reply within 3 days.
Reacting to the incident, Congress Chief Whip Taraprasad Bahinipati said, “The Youth and Student leaders of Odisha Congress have expressed their feelings. They have not beaten them or abused them. They are giving their everything to Congress and are always ready to do anything for Lulu Mahapatra. They have just vented their brewing feelings.”
Notably on Wednesday, the irate youth and student leaders stormed into a party meeting here which was chaired by AICC Odisha-in-charge B.K. Hariprasad at a posh hotel suite. They alleged that the AICC leaders have shown disrespect and betrayal to their beloved icon ‘Lulu Bhai’ (departed Lulu Mohapatra as fondly addressed).
A group of youths and student leaders barged into the hotel suite where the meeting was going on and questioned B.K. Hariprasad why he, despite being present on the funeral day here at the capital city on Tuesday, did not pay his last homage to their ‘Lulu Bhai’.
Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan, who along with AICC deputy Odisha-in-charge Suvankar Sarkar was present in the hotel room then, tried to pacify the angry young men, but was all in vain.
The annoyed youth and student leaders also threatened that they would not allow any AICC leader to enter into the State and pelt eggs on them even at Rahul Gandhi.
