**Bhubaneswar: ** As the pass percentage has decreased this year from 85.28% in 2017 to 76.23% in Odisha Board Of Secondary Education Matric results of 2018, School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra has attributed it to the strict conduct of the examinations this year.
“It is natural that the results are showing a downward trend. The examination was conducted quite strictly and there was no scope of malpractice. The students were also not allowed to take examinations in their own school,” said the Minister.
He also said, “Now in the coming days, the teachers and students will work harder to score better results. The schools which have shown zero results will be under our scanner and we will definitely take action in this regard.”
When asked about the problems faced during the evaluation due to the strike of Block Grant Teachers, he said, “There was no problem in the evaluation of Matric results as there were other teachers, and we need quite less teachers to evaluate the papers.”
