**Bhubaneswar: ** In a bid to putting an end to the spurt in bank robbery incidents taking place in the state, Odisha Crime Branch ADG Santosh Upadhyay conducted a high-level review meeting with important officials and Nodal Security Officers from 35 banks.
Various issues pertaining to the safety of bank deposits, OTP passwords, security alarms, etc were discussed in the meeting.
In a media interaction, ADG Santosh Upadhyay said, “In this review meeting, we discussed security related issues with bank officials. Elaborate deliberation on prevention of bank robbery as well as measures to be adopted in the aftermath of such incidents were the main highlights of this meet.”
The ADG also informed that a circular has been issued to the Superintendent of Police (SP) of all the districts in the state, to conduct a monthly review in association with bank officials to gauge security arrangements at all bank branches falling under their respective jurisdictions.
Apart from CCTVs, hand detectors, door metal detectors, spy cameras and body cameras will be used as security aids. The banks have also been asked to re-structure their security arrangements as per the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India(RBI).
