Bhubaneswar: Union Secretary of School Education and Literacy (Ministry of Human Resource and Development), Anil Swarup today directed the Regional Officer of CBSE, to form a ‘core group’ and take up issues which the CBSE-affiliated schools are facing in Bhubaneswar Region.
The RO will be the convener of the group and come up with practical solutions to address these issues. The recommendations should be send to CBSE head office for consideration.
The Union Secretary was addressing a meeting of convened by SAI International School today, in which Principals of private schools in the State Capital participated. “I am a great believer in public-private school partnership and best practices should be replicated,” he said.
Principal Secretary, School and Mass Education Department PK Mohapatra outlined the various measures taken up by the State Government to address issues related to education. “We are determined to bring in large scale reforms in the state education system.” He suggested that teachers’ recruitment should be on merit basis and not on mark basis to ensure the quality of education.
SAI International School Chairman Bijoy Sahoo congratulated the participants (school principals) for their noble work. Financially sound schools should adopt less-privileged schools in their locality to raise their standards, Sahoo said.
