Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Literary Meet, sponsored by Tata Steel is all ready to dazzle with a starry line of guests. The event, being held at Xavier Institute of Management here begins today afternoon and will commence on Sunday evening.
On day one, Lord Meghanad Desai and Perumal Murugan will open the evening followed by addresses by famed names such as Ajoy Bose, Anant Mohapatra, Malabika Ray, Jatindra Nayak, and end with spoken word performer Priya Malik.
Bikram Grewal will begin day two with ‘The Birds of Odisha’ followed by Ajoy Bose and Ruben Bannerjee sharing the challenge of writing an honest biography. The highlight of the event is Odisha launch of Satyarth Nayak’s book ‘Sridevi-The Eternal Screen Goddess’. Another awaited event will be Nandita Das on her personal and cinematic journey with Saadat Hassan Manto on who whom she had made a biography. Viewers will get to witness popular Indian actor, director and producer of Hindi and Marathi cinema Amol Palekar on the stage with his play ‘Kusur (The Mistake).’
A special Odia session with Sitakant Mahapatra, Anant Mahapatra, Subodh Patnaik and Sucheta Mishra will be held on Saturday where they will discuss changing rhymes and muses that morph.
The third day, i.e. January 12 will start with translation-recitation of ‘Arzee the Dwarf’ as ‘Bamana Arzee’ by Sindhubala Choudhary. There’s also an Odia poetry interlude and a special dialogue session on ‘No Country for Women’. With myriad of discussions on day three, the day will end with a stand-up act by ‘mast aadmi ’Biswa Kalyan Rath.
