Bhubaneswar:  India won its fifth match against Afghanistan in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 at Southampton on Saturday.

Afghanistan put-up a tough fight against reigning Team India and were sailing well, chasing a small total of 224. The Afghans needed 16 runs in the final over which was taken-up by Mohammed Shami.

Star-scorer for Afghanistan Mohammed Nabi hit a classic drive to the long-on and scored a boundary of the first delivery of the 50th over.

Nabi was dismissed while trying a similar shot but was caught by Hardik Pandya near the boundary line.

With Shami on fire, it was a tough job for the two tail-enders to face him. Both of them were clean bowled by two toe-crushing yorkers of the Indian pacer.

India won the match by 11 runs and one ball to spare.

For India, Shami scalped four wickets while ICC world no 1 in ODI Jasprit Bumrah was declared man of the match. Bumrah took two wickets giving away 39 runs in 10 overs.
