Bhubaneswar: In a startling and sensational revelation, an assistant professor of the esteemed Utkal Univeristy has levelled sexual harassment within the varsity. He also alleged of being mentally and physically harassed for the last two years.

Talking to OMMCOM NEWS, the asst professor said, “I was sexually harassed within the department in 2016. I have given written complaints to the VC several times in this regard, and there has also been an enquiry on it. Once the enquiry report comes, it will be known to all. I can’t disclose anything on this matter as it is an internal matter of the varsity. I have faith in University authorities but they are continually harassing me. If the matter persists, I may even go to the court of law.”

On the other hand, the students of the department have been on an indefinite strike against the assistant professor. According to the students, they face innumerable sufferings due to that professor and want the VC to take action against him.

According to Sweety Mohapatra, a student, “He doesn’t teach well and do not clear any of our doubts. He always challenges us to complain against him before the VC stating that he is not afraid of anyone.”

Shreyank Tripathy echoes the same feeling. He said, “The asst professor just presents a PPT and reads out. No one is allowed to ask any question relating to the PPT. The students have been facing this problem since last 2 years.”
