Bhubaneswar: Heat wave condition in most part of Odisha continued with as many as six places in the State recorded a maximum temperature of above 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Sonepur was the hottest place in the State where mercury sizzled at 41.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhawanipatna, Bolangir, Malkangiri and Titlagarh which were recorded 41.0 degrees Celsius, 41.0 degrees Celsius, 40.4 degrees Celsius and 40.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
As per the prediction of Regional Meteorological Department (IMD) for the next 24-hours, “Rain/ thundershower likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over Interior Odisha.”
The IMD also warned, “Thunder squall accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Malkangiri,Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri and Angul.”
