Odisha: Higher Education Department To Probe "Irregularities" In Ravenshaw University

Cuttack: The State Government has decided to conduct an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the functioning and administration of Ravenshaw University.

The additional secretary of Higher Education Department will be conducting the inquiry on August 17 and submit a consolidated report to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department in this regard.

The HE Department wrote a letter to the varsity's Registrar apprising him of the scheduled inquiry on Wednesday. The Department has sought details on audit reports during last two years and mode of recruitment of professors and assistant professors.

Besides, details have been sought on purchases, process of recruitment of Guest Faculties and mode of promotions. “This is just a formal probe. The Department has asked for some information on the appointments during the last two years. We will fully cooperate,” an university official said.
