Bhubaneswar: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik has created 40-ft long sand art at BJP National Executive venue in Janta Maidan at Bhubaneswar as a welcome gesture to PM Modi in the capital city. Moreover, Jatni-based sculptor L. Eshwar Rao has created a miniature bottle art on Modi in his honour.
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives here on Saturday afternoon, there will be a cultural troupe showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.
There will be over 500 traditional folk dance and music artists drawn from all over the state present along the road to welcome him. The entire stretch of the wide two-lane road from the Biju Patnaik international airport to Janata Maidan, the venue for BJP's national executive, through the Raj Bhavan square has been barricaded where the performing artists would be deployed at different places to showcase Odisha's rich cultural heritage.
The roadshow will have such cultural shifts like Odishi, Gotipua, Mahari, Chhau, Danda, Bagha, Chaiti, Ghoda, Paika, and Sambalpuri dances, Jodi Sankha music and dances by different tribal troupes. The rich Odissi classical music will be played in the background.
