Bhubaneswar: After being entrusted with the vital task by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi for setting right the sorry state of affairs of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) and also in a bid to boost up the sagging morale of the grand old political party’s rank and file in the State, new OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Wednesday (June 13) began his review of the District Congress Committees (DCC) assigned to the three working presidents of OPCC.

Accordingly, Patnaik on the day began his DCC review with working president Pradip Majhi as Majhi has been handed over the assignments of 11 DCCs. Besides working president Majhi, office bearers of the 11 DCCs were also present at the review meeting.

As per OPCC sources, tomorrow (Thursday) has been slated for the DCCs entrusted with two other working presidents-cum-senior MLAs Chiranjiv Biswal and Naba Kishore Das.

Notably, the AICC has of late revamped the 33 DCCs across Odisha. Even the new OPCC president has made it clear that winnability will be the main yardstick for getting ticket in the 2019 elections and the selction of candidate will be done from the grassrootslevel not at the Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Later, the candidature will be ratified and endorsed by the AICC after being routed through OPCC.
