Bhubaneswar: Investigations into the gang-rape and suicide by the 15-year-old girl of Kunduli in Koraput district should be handed over to the CBI, a team of the National Commission of Scheduled Caste (NCSC), which made an on-the-spot enquiry on Monday, has said.

"I have collected substantial information on the incident during my visit to Kunduli. I will submit my report to the Commission's Chairman and we will ensure that srtingenet action is initiated to ensure that the victim's family gets justice," NCSC Member Yogendra Paswan said at the behest of a meeting with top police officials of the State.

DG Police Dr RP Sharma. HRPC Additional DG Mahendra Pratap, Special Secretary Home Department Dr Santosh Bala and IG Police Headquarters Asit Panigrahi were present during the meeting with NCSC team.

The three-member team led by Paswan visited the home of the victim to meet the family members. The team also went to her school and interacted with her friends.

Later the SC Commission team went to Kunduli Community Health Centre and SLNM Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, where the victim had undergone treatment. Koraput Collector and Superintendent of Police accompanied the NCSC team.
