Youth’s Decomposed Body Recovered From Malkangiri Forest, Doctor Confirms Bear Attack

Malkangiri: The decomposed body of a local youth was recovered from the jungle of Jhariaguda village under Sadar Panchayat of Khairput block in the district. The youth has been identified as Mangala Pujari.

Reports said that Mangala had been to his farm land three days ago, but did not return home following which his worried family members made a frantic search. During the search, they discovered a decomposed body today. The body had several injury marks and ants were found swarming on his face.

The family members suspected that Mangala has been attacked either by bear or any other wild animal.

Being informed, Mahulipada police and Mathili Range forest officials reached the spot and initiated investigation. Police seized the body and sent it for post mortem at Khairput Community Health Centre (CHC).

After conducting autopsy, CHC doctor Suresh Kumar Barik confirmed that Mangala has been attacked and killed by bear three days back.
