Youth Critical After Bomb Falls Off Hand In Odisha's Puri

Puri: A youth has been seriously injured after a bomb he was carrying exploded near him at Rebatiraman village in Puri district on Thursday evening.

Reportedly, the injured person identified as Chandan Bhoi of the village is a history sheeter and he along with some of his associates had an argument with people of a nearby village few days back.

Today evening, Chandan and his associates had been called for a compromise. However, he had carried a bomb along with him which accidentally fell from his hand and detonated near him.

Chandan sustained serious injuries on both of his legs in the explosion. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital from where he has been referred to SCB Cuttack, said sources.

Meanwhile, Puri Sadar Police has detained one of Chandan's associates identified as Kalia Bhoi. A manhunt has also been launched to nab his other associates.
