Youth Held For Cheating Separated Women On Pretext Of Remarriage

Bhubaneswar: Mahila police on Wednesday arrested one Priyaranjan Naik alias Pintu on charges of cheating and blackmailing at least three women. Pintu, a native of Daringbadi used to befriend women who were separated from their husband and develop intimate relationship with them.

According to the complainants in this case, Pintu posed as a Government employee and expressed sympathies with separated women. He would later establish intimate relationship with them on the pretext of marriage.

However, once his intention of physcial intimacy was fulfilled the youth willingly cut-off from the relationship. He used to blackmail the victims and threatened them of dire consequences if they appraoched the police. He also demanded money from the victims and force them into physcial relation even after brekaing up, the complainants said.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by one of the victims at Mahila Police station here, Pintu was booked under multiple Sections of the IPC and arrested. Further investigation is on to ascertain whether Pintu has trapped more women with malafide intentions.
