Puri: On the occasion of Yoga Day, globally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created another sand sculpture with the theme 'Surya Namaskar'.

Pattnaik has used around seven tonnes of sand to create the sand art at the Puri beach in Odisha.

He has dedicated the sculpture to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had proposed the idea of International Day of Yoga, commonly referred as Yoga Day, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 27 September 2014.

It was also Modi who had suggested the date of June 21 to be celebrated as Yoga Day. The first International Day of Yoga was observed around the world on 21 June 2015.
