**Bhubaneswar: ** As Odisha Government has been consistently striving to achieve universal health coverage for the people, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the occasion of World Health Day launched several new schemes and also interacted with the patients in the districts through video conferencing from the State Secretariat on Saturday afternoon.
The launched schemes are “Nirmal”, “Sunetra”, “SAMMPURNA – Suraksha Kabacha”, Enhancement of daily allowance to Mothers of Children admitted to Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres from Rs 50 to Rs 100 per day, “Sahay”, “Nidaan” and CT Scan Service.
Besides logos and start of universal eye healthcare was also launched by the Chief Minister on the World Health Day.
For promotion of healthy and hygienic hospitals, “Nirmal” has been launched. This will strengthen sanitation, laundry, security, lift services etc at the public health facilities with an annual budgetary provision of Rs 120 crores.
The launch of free screening and treatment of all Eye Diseases under “Sunetra”-Universal Eye Health Care Programme with annual financial implication of Rs 120 crores. Under this scheme, vision centre will be strengthened with latest eye care technology, mass screening of diabetic retinopathy and lifelong treatment of glaucoma with free treatment for other eye diseases. Vision Clinics have started at Urban Primary Health Centres at Bramheswarapatana and Urban Primary Health Centre, Bhubaneswar. Subsequently, this will be extended to other areas phase-wise.
“SAMMPURNA – Suraksha Kabacha” is a provision of Mother & Baby Kit for all institutional delivery cases with annual financial allocation of Rs 69 crore. The kit contains various useful and essential items for promoting health of mother and baby. Annually more than 5,50 lakhs mothers and newborns will be benefitted.
Enhancement of daily allowance to the mothers of children admitted to Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres from Rs 50 to Rs 100 per day. It is to incentivize stay of mother and child till full recovery of the child so as to accelerate the reduction of malnutrition among children.
“Sahay” is the start of free dialysis in PPP mode in the districts of Angul, Balasore, Bolangir and Capital Hospital. This will followed in another 22 locations shortly. Annual budgetary provision of Rs 10 crores has been made for free dialysis scheme. The main objective is to provide quality dialysis services at all public health facilities across the State.
“Nidaan” is the start of high-end diagnosis services in PPP mode in 32 DHHs under “Nidaan”-Free Diagnostic Services. Annual budgetary provision is of Rs 110 crores. Under this scheme, 15 types of high-end pathology teats like Peripheral Blood Smear, Thyroid test, Culture, Sensivity for Blood & Urine, Histopathology, Bone Marrow Aspiration, HbA1C etc. will be provided free of cost to the patients.
Start of CT Scan Services in PPP mode in Angul, Baleswar, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Puri and Keonjhar under “Nidaan”- Free Diagnostic Services. Another 3 districts (Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh and Koraput) will follow soon.
Digitalisation and reporting of X-Ray will commence soon in 149 locations.
