5 Cadre Maoists Killed In Encounter On Odisha-Andhra Border

Koraput: As many as five cadre Maoists, including three women, of the left wing extremist (LWE) group were killed in an encounter at Kituakanti village under Padua area on the border of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

According to Koraput police sources, the encounter took place under the Padua Police Station limits near the Andhra Pradesh border. Police also informed that 3 SLR and 2 INSAS rifles have been seized from the spot. 

It was further informed that the incident took place during a combing operation launched by the DVF and SOG commandos.

Till the filing of the report the identity of the Maoists were not known while the combing operation was still on.
