Woman Maoist Cadre Carrying Rs 1 Lakh Reward Surrenders In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A 23-yr-old woman Maoist cadre named Ide Madi who was renamed as Jiwani by the outlawed outfit surrendered before Jagmohan Meena, SP of Malkangiri on Monday.

She was working as a party member in Kalimela Area Committee under Malkangir Division under the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of Outlawed CPI (Maoist ) Organisation since 2014. She was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh announced by the Government of Odisha. Incidentally, she was the last Moist cadre operationg in the Kalimela Area Committee.

Talking to the media persons, SP Jagmohan Meena informed, “She will get monetary assistance as per the Surrender and Rehabilitation Scheme of Government of Odisha. She shall also get financial assistance for building house, pursuing studies and getting training in a trade/vocation of her liking.”

According to Ide Madi, she left the party as there were frequent anti-Maoist operations conducted by the security forces areas of Kalimela. Moreover she saw the developmental activities and realized the futility of the violent approach of Maoists.

She even did not like the activities of CPI (Maoist) cadres like Deba Madhi alias Arjun alias Randev who is involved in many brutal killings of innocent civilians.
