Woman Killed In Elephant Attack In Odisha's Angul

Angul: In yet another incident of man-animal conflict, a woman was killed by an wild elephant at Pratappur village under Handapa Panchayat of Angul district on Thursday.

Reportedly, the woman identified as Manjulata Sahu was sweeping her house verandah when the elephant caught her by its trunk and threw her on the ground, killing her instantly.

Tension erupted in the area after the incident as irate locals blocked National Highway 55 demanding compensation for family of the deceased.
