Woman Braves Chain-Snatcher, Gets One Arrested

Khurda:  A woman bravely fought a miscreant who attempted to snatch her gold chain while she was riding pillion on a motorcycle with her husband here on Monday.

The incident took place on Baghamari – Simor road when the woman and her husband were riding on a motorcycle. A bike-borne miscreant came out of nowhere and attempted to snatch the gold necklace she was wearing.

On realizing the attempted look underway, she resisted and dragged the miscreant from the two-wheeler. In the process, the couple and the miscreant fell-off their vehicles.

Soon after, a group of passersby apprehended the miscreant and handed him over to police. The woman identified as Binodini Mohapatra is a lecturer at Kalapathar College.

The accused was identified as Tasleem Alisha of Khajuripada in Nirakarpur.
