Woman Accuses Bhubaneswar-Central MLA Of Physical Assault

Bhubaneswar: Bringing serious allegations against Bhubaneswar-Central MLA Ananta Narayana Jena, a woman has filed a police case alleging physical assault among other charges.

In a complaint dated May 20 which was filed at Baghamari police station in Khurda district, the woman has named Jena and 22 of his associates in her complaint. She has alleged that the MLA and his associates came to her house on the night of May 19 and started obscenely abusing her absentee husband.

Since no other male person was present at home, she refused to open the door. However, Jena and co forcefully entered her house and physically abused her and even threatened to kill her, says the complainant.

On the basis of the complaint, Police registered a case under IPC 448 (House-trespass), 294 (Obscene acts), 354B (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (Criminal Intimidation), and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). An investigation is underway.
