Bhubaneswar: Every year on the first of January, people across the World set goals for themselves- Fitness goals, Career goals, Travel goals or personal life goals. While a handful is successful in achieving these unrealistic goals, most of the people fall flat on their faces and go back to their old habits. Nonetheless, in the spirit of keeping ‘New Year, New Me’ alive, people of Bhubaneswar have taken some resolutions which they aspire to work towards during this fresh batch of 365 hopeful days.

OMMCOM NEWS talked to people on Bhubaneswar streets and tried to feel the pulse of the city on the last day of the year. While one Sushmita wants to crack a government job and work tirelessly towards achieving that goal, Sweta yearns that all her happiness is doubled. However, one Bikash Agarwal said that he is happy with his life and wants no changes at all. Meanwhile Radha has decided to lose weight and stay fit, which will probably be the goal that most of the people set for themselves.

One Nikhil said, “I have made many resolutions but the most important one is that I hope I don’t repeat my past mistakes. Everything should be new. I want to work on the mistakes I have made.”

Another Rajeev said, “Every year we make New Year resolutions but no one really bothers to work on them. This year, we hope we make a few changes in ourselves. My resolution is to stay fit and stay healthy. Second resolution is to make the environment clean and country beautiful. Let us pledge to not throw anything on the roads. Third resolution is to try something new and achieving success in that.”

Another Pramod Pandey chuckled, “I have decided to quit smoking in 2019. And most importantly, I have decided not have a girlfriend and focus on career instead to make my parents proud.”

Engineering students Soubhagya Ranjan Sahoo and Jatin Biswal said, “We have decided that we will not waste time like we did in 2018. We loitered around a lot, but now that has to change. We will work on making a name for ourselves and build our careers.”

So with the dawn of the New Year, OMMCOM NEWS wishes that all its readers are successful in prioritizing their goals, channelizing their energies and working towards a healthier and happier life. Happy New Year!
