Wishes Pour In For Dr APJ Abdul Kalam On His Birth Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007, was born in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu on October 15, 1931. And on the occasion of his 88th birth anniversary wishes poured in from dignitaries like Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and common masses alike.

The Missile Man of India, Dr Kalam came from humble beginnings and went on to become one of India’s most prolific aerospace scientists. He made landmark contributions to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

A recipient of several accolades, he also received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. He was also India’s most loved President when served office for one term.
