Wild-Ant-Bitten Newborn Boy Found Abandoned In Odisha Jungle

Mayurbhanj: In a shocking incident, a newborn boy was found abandoned in Sureidihi forest in the tribal-dominated district here today. After being rescued, he has been admitted to the medical college and hospital here in a critical condition.

Reports said that the deplorable incident has taken place near Nahasol village under Morada block and Betanati Police Station (PS) limits of the district today morning.

While some locals discovered the baby wrapped up in a sack, one youth activist alerted the District Child Welfare (DCW) Department following which the officials immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the deserted baby.

Sources said that wild ant had already fed on the abandoned baby boy following which he has been admitted to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital for treatment at the district headquarters town of Baripada.

Investigation was on to ascertain the identity of the baby and the culprit.
