Bhubaneswar: In a follow-up to its earlier complaint on the 'forged' intelligence report on the Chief Minister's candidature, circulated by BJP, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and demanded to take an immediate action on it.

BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra termed it unfortunate that even after 48 hours of lodging a complaint over the serious crime committed by BJP through circulation of a fake intelligence report to mislead people of Odisha, the Election Commission and CEO has not taken any action on it.

"While a Congress candidate from Malkangiri, Mala Madhi, was issued a show-cause notice for taking out a party procession without prior approval, why is the Election Commission has not even served a warning to the BJP leaders who are moving with their heads high even after committing such a crime," questioned Patra.

He further questioned, why the Election Commission and CEO have not asked Facebook and Twitter to pull down the posts of BJP. If no such action is taken on such happenings during the elections in India and especially Odisha, how is it a free, fair and unbiased election, he added.

Patra said the Election Commission and CEO should show some seriousness on the matter to prove there is no pressure from BJP on the election process.
