Weather Update: Rain, Thundershowers In Odisha Likely To Continue Till February 27

Bhubaneswar: Rain and thundershowers to continue in the districts of north and south Odisha till February 27, said Director of the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, H R Biswas on Monday.

Addressing mediapersons, Biswas said, there are chances of rain and thundershowers at many places in districts of north Odisha and at isolated places of south Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Besides, thunder squall accompanied with hailstorm and heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in north Odisha, he added.

Biswas also warned of squally winds reaching speed of 40-50 kmph at one or two places and gusty winds in other parts. The effect will continue till February 26 and 27.

On February 28, rainfall will occur at isolated places off Odisha coast and the weather will be dry from March 1, he added.

Biswas also informed that weather in Bhubaneswar today will remain partly cloudy and there are chances of thunderstorm towards evening or night. He has advised people to stay indoors to be safe from lightning.

He further said that fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea because of squally winds over the Bay of Bengal.
