Weather Forecast: South Odisha Likely To Experience Rainfall, Cold Wave Situation To Prevail

Bhubaneswar: With 2019 knocking on the door, the Regional Meteorological Department has predicted the weather for the closing days of the year. While some places of South Odisha might get rainfall, cold wave conditions will prevail in North Odisha in the coming days, said officials today.

Gouranga Chandra Behera, Meteorologist of the Regional Met Department informed, “A cyclonic circulation is looming over South Odisha and adjoining Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, southern districts of Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri might experience rainfall at one or two places. But, no warning has been issued. After the cyclonic circulation subsides, state-wide the conditions will largely remain dry.”

“But in north Odisha, cold wave condition is likely to prevail for the next few days. On Thursday, a minimum of 9.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Keonjhar while temperatures remained above 10 degrees in all other places,” he added.

“On Thursday, 10.4 degrees was recorded in Phulbani and Talcher, while it was 10.3 in Balasore. In Bhubaneswar, weather will remain cloudy for the next few days following which mist and fog conditions will be prevail,” concluded.
