Bhubaneswar: In a major fire mishap, as many as seven vehicles were gutted at an apartment in Jharpada’s Jagannath Nagar here late last night. The fire reportedly broke out in the parking lot of the building in the middle of the night.

While no casualties have been reported from the site, sources said that a cylinder had been removed on-time thus averting a major tragedy. However, at least two cars and five bikes were gutted in the fire.

On intimation, Fire Services personnel reached the spot and it took nearly an hour to douse the flames. Meanwhile, residents have lodged a police complaint alleging that some miscreants had intentionally sparked the fire and have also mentioned that the security guards were missing during the incident.
