Balasore: An unusual case from Kathagochi village under Nilagiri police limits has been caught on camera. An unfortunate wild bear was caught in the trap that was laid for a boar and was seen struggling to free itself from the clutches.

Reportedly, villagers had set a trap to catch a wild boar that had been destroying the crops for the last few days. However, a bear was caught in the trap instead to both the villagers’ and the wild animal’s dismay.

Locals suspect that the bear had left dense jungle late last night and might have wandered into human habitation in search of food. The bear was spotted by locals struggling to free itself from the trap, and immediately informed the forest officials.

On the other hand, bear expert-cum-wildlife warden Prakash Mardaraj Harichandan also reached the spot and is keeping a track on the wild animal’s movement.
