Vietnam Ambassador Calls On Odisha CM, Invites To Pay Official Visit To The Nation

Bhubaneswar: Vietnam ambassador Pham Sanh Chau today paid a courtesy call to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat here.

Soon after the important meeting, the Vietnamese envoy briefed media, “I’m very pleased to be able to visit Odisha. This is my first visit to Odisha. I have been in New Delhi for just three months.”

He informed, “The purpose of the visit is to have a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. Firstly to wish you all best wishes on the occasion of New Year and especially the lunar new year of Vietnam, which is coming next week. Secondly also to extend the invitation of the Government and people of Vietnam to the Hon’ble Chief Minister to pay an official visit to Vietnam.”

“I also asked him to send a troupe to Vietnam in order to perform on the occasion of Baisakh. It is a very important celebration that would take place in May, 2019,” he stated.

He further stated, “We also discussed the area of cooperation between Vietnam and Odisha. The area of cooperation includes Food Processing. Vietnam at the moment import many shrimps and sea foods from Odisha. We also want to export fish to Odisha. We also discussed about importing and exporting other items like cashew nut, pepper, garlic and many other things.”

“The second area of cooperation is tourism. Tomorrow I would visit a number of monuments and we hope we can boost the tourists of Vietnam to Odisha,” the Ambassador informed.
