Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Limited, a diversified natural resources company today inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SRL Diagnostics for setting up a state-of-the-art pathology and radiology centre at Jharsuguda within a year.
The two companies signed the MoU here in the presence of Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kisore Das at the Lok Seva Bhawan here today.
"Today is a historic day for we the people of Jharsuguda. An MOU was inked between SRL Diagnostics and Vedanta Ltd to open a full phased diagnostic centre at Jharsuguda town," said Das speaking to reporters after the MoU inking.
BPL cardholders can get the investigations done at this centre for free while others will have to pay for the services as per the rates of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), he added.
"Another centre will be opened in remote Laikera block. These centres will be a big benefit for people in these areas. These centres will be completed within a year and will start serving the people in 2021," the Minister stated.
"As per our commitment from the Vedanta side, we will open a state-of-the-art pathology and radiology centre at Jharsuguda within a year. We have signed an MoU with SRL for the purpose," said Chhabi Nath Singh, CEO, Vedanta Ltd, Jharsuguda.
The Minister informed that the State government will provide land for the project and Vedanta will provide funds for the centres under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
