Varsities Asked For Capacity Building In Colleges To Better NAAC Score

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Thursday directed authorities of all universities in the State for improvement of infrastructure and capacity building in colleges scheduled to be visited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team for fetching better scores during accreditation/assessment.

Authorities of the universities have been directed by the Minister to work out year-wise detailed plans/schedule of proposed visits by NAAC team. 

"At today's meeting we discussed on how colleges can get better grades during NAAC accreditation/assessment. Authorities have been asked to work out year-wise plan/programme of colleges to be visited by NAAC team this year and in the subsequent years," informed Sahoo to newsmen soon after addressing a meeting of Vice Chancellors of all universities of the State held at the Pustak Bhawan here.

He added that keeping in mind NAAC team's visit schedule infrastructure etc.in the said colleges would be developed as per their need.

"Universities have been directed to conduct training etc.in those colleges for capacity building," Sahu stated.
