Bhubaneswar: Brijesh Singh, the most wanted don of Uttar Pradesh and who was nabbed by Delhi Police from the capital city here in 2008, was produced before the Bhubaneswar SDJM court on Tuesday.

Brijesh was booked under sections of 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 25 (D) of Indian Panel Code (IPC). The next hearing of the case has been posted on December 14.

Notably, Brijesh was accused of killing seven members of a family in 1986 and was on the run for years together. He was living under a fake identity here in the city. Several other cases of murder and kidnapping in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat have been registered against him.

On April 1986, Sikrara village head Ram Chandra Yadav and his family members were attacked by a group of goons. Yadav and six members of his family were killed while three others were injured. The attack was reportedly fallout of a land dispute and panchayat elections.
