Unexpected Death: Priest Run Over By Van While Performing Its 'Puja' In Odisha's Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, a priest lost his life after being run over by a pick-up van while performing puja of the new vehicle on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Chaturbhuja Mohanty of Netalagandhi village. 

Reportedly, Chatrubhuja had gone to Durkajodi village to perform rituals for a new pick-up van purchased by one Trinath Pujari. After the arrangements were done and the 'puja' was completed, the priest placed lemons under the vehicle's wheels and asked the owner to drive over them as a mark of good beginning.

While standing near the car, the priest was suddenly run over by the pick-up van which was already in gear. It is known from the sources that the a relative of the vehicle owner was on the steering wheel. 

On intimation, cops reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated a probe into the matter.
