Two Sisters Thrashed On Suspicion Of Practising Witchcraft In Rayagada

Rayagada: Police on Wednesday rescued two sisters from Mankadjhola village in Rayagada district after they were allegedly thrashed by locals and locked inside a room on suspicion of practising witchcraft.

Reportedly, following the death of one Santosh Jani (35) in the village due to paralysis, the villagers blamed two sisters Sabita Jani and Garma Muduli of practising black magic and witchcraft.

Subsequently, the villagers thrashed the duo and locked them inside a room. On getting information, Rayagada police reached the village and rescued the sisters. Police patrolling has been intensified in the village to avoid any further untoward incident.
