Two Dacoity Gangs Busted In Odisha's Ganjam

Ganjam: In a major success for Ganjam police, two notorious dacoity gangs were busted with the arrest of 12 persons on Wednesday night. The gangs was planning to commit dacoity in Berhampur town, said sources.

The police have recovered four pistols, 13 rounds of live ammunition, 12 crude bombs, three swords, as many knives and several other sharp weapons from their possession.

Cash of Rs 58,000 and five motorcycles were also recovered from the accused persons. The gang was active in Ganjam, Khurda and Nayagarh districts from the past several months. There are at least 10 criminal cases registered against the members of this gang at various police stations.

One of the gangs was nabbed by Aska police while the other by Buguda police. Six persons each were arrested in both the cases, Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Rai said.
