Bhubaneswar: The State cries in grief after the death of 45 martyrs that included two Odia jawans in a terror attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir.

The martyred Odia jawans have been identified as Prasanna Kumar Sahoo of 61 Battalion, resident of Jagatsinghpur and Manoj Kumar Behera, resident of Niali area in Cuttack.

The family members of the two jawans have been left devastated and the land of Odisha waits for its brave hearts to return. While the mortal remains of the jawans are awaited for the last rites, a pall of gloom has gripped the two villages.

On February 14 at around 3.15 p.m, a 'Fidayeen' bomber belonging to the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror outfit rammed an explosive-laden SUV into a bus carrying CRPF troopers in Lethpora area of Pulwama district on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.

PM Modi is set to chair a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at 9.15 a.m. in Delhi today regarding the incident. The attack happened even as an intelligence input had warned of its the possibility 48 hours earlier. The audacious attack, the worst-ever since armed insurgency started in the state in 1989, was carried out by the JeM.
