Two Cousin Sisters, Both Minors, Charred To Death In Odisha's Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur / Sundergarh: Two cousin sisters were charred to death in Mainapadar village in Gurusinga panchayat here on Sunday. The incident took place when the two girls were playing in a makeshift hut in their family-owned corn field.

The parents of the two children, were at their field for farming-related work when the mishap occurred. The two sisters, Sujata (4) and Elina (3) were burnt alive, while another cousin Archita escaped narrowly.

Local police rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies. A case has been registered in this connection and further investigation is on.

In another incident, a mother-daughter duo were charred to death at Bhasma area of Sundergarh district on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Lakshmi Meher and her daughter. Local police have retrieved the bodies and started an inuqiry into the incident.
