**Rourkela/Puri:** In a tragic incident on Children’s Day, two college students of the steel city drowned in Brahmani river near Birtola under Bonaigarh, 84 km away from the steel city.
According to reports, 30 students of City Commerce Academy here had been to Birtola for picnicking. Unfortunately, three of the students were washed away by the water current while taking bath in the river. However, one of them could be saved while other two went missing. Later, the locals launched rescue operation and fished out the two bodies from the river.
The two deceased have been identified as Mohammed Sadab and Mohammed Saklim Ali. The rescued student has been identified as Mohammed Afzal.
In a similar tragic incident, a Class III student of Kanti Nodal UP School of Pipli drowned while washing hands at a local pond after attending the Children’s Day Festival in his school. The angry locals staged road blockade at Kanti in Puri district after the incident.
