Bhubaneswar: With the approach of extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI all agencies of the State Government are on high alert. Today Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty convened a meeting of senior police officials and preapred a strategy to combat the calamity.

Mohanty said that all electronic devices, especially the radio and VHF handsets in Commissionerate of Police inventory have been commissioned and are ready for use during the exigent situation. "There is a high probability that the mobile and landline telephone services might be snapped. Under such scenarios we rely heavily on radio and VHF devices for uninterrupted communication," he said.

Police officials will be stationed at the Integrated Control Room setup by Khurda district administration to coordinate relief and restoration work in the Twin City. Besides, a team of Twin City police would also work in tandem with the Fire Services and ODRAF to carry out restoration activities and distribution of relief materials, he added.
