Cuttack: This Diwali Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi brought smiles on some innocent faces of children living an underprivileged life for no fault of theirs. He visited Basundhara Orphanage in Cuttack and interacted with the children while distributing some sweets and snacks.

However, it is the friendliness of the Police Commissioner which won the hearts of the inmates who not only hugged the man in uniform but also clicked some pictures with him.

After expressing his Diwali greetings to the children Sarangi said, "It is unfortunate that at a time when the country has progressed a lot some people still abandon their children. I don't think there is such poverty in our country for which parents are not able to take care of a child especially girl."

Sarangi said today he got a chance to spend some time with the children in order to learn to be compassionate. He was doubtful whether the children will fear to see police but they were responsive and observant.

He hoped that such compassion develops in the mind of every policemen and every person of the society. Finally, he urged all to celebrate a safe and hassle-free Diwali.
