Angul: A tusker has strayed into the village of Chhendipada from the forest area which has created panic and fear among the villagers in the area. Last Friday, it had strayed into the human habitat from Kankurupal jungle in search of food.

As it was feeding on threshed paddy, some villagers noticed and tried to scare it off by shouting and bursting crackers. Forest officials and the elephant squad also reached the place.

The elephant moved towards the Mamuria village, thus creating more fear. The locals of Saluikhaman village are also panic-stricken by the elephant scare.

It was sent back to jungle through the main road in Kumhar Sahi through constant shouting and cracker bursting. Hundreds of villagers gathered to see the animal.
