Dhenkanal/Jajpur/Puri: Within a week into the launch of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's ambitious 'Mo Sarkar' programme, the team CMO has sprung into action. Led by Chief Secretary Transformation and Initiatives or 5T, VK Pandian, a team of officials have been touring districts one after the other to take stock of the healthcare system in the district headquarter hospitals (DHHs).

As a part of this drive, senior officials of the CMO today toured DHHs of Dhenkanal, Puri and Jajpur. The CMO officials, OSD DS Kutey, Additional Secretary Roopa Roshan Sahoo, Joint Secretary Aditya Mohapatra, Manoj Swain and Dillip Mohanty, led separate teams to conduct inspections at the hospitals.

Managing Director of Odisha State Medical Corporation, Yamini Sarangi, Health Department Joint Secretary, Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, District Collectors, Superintendents of police and senior officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department accompanied the CMO team during the tour. The teams reviewed the availability of healthcare facilities to patients by moving into different departments at the hospitals and interacting with patients and their family members.

The whirlwind 'feedback' tour under 'Mo Sarkar' initiative commenced on Friday (October 11) when the 5T Secretary toured Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts on the same day. A day later, he was on a visit to the DHHs in Kalahandi, Rayagada and Nuapada.

The tours are focussed on inspection of drug distribution facility at 'Niramaya', 'Aahar' centres, different Wards and Departments and general hospital administration at the DHHs.

'Mo Sarkar' can be dubbed as one of the most ambitious initiatives launched by the Odisha CM. Under its ambit, the common man has been empowered to report negligence, dereliction in duty and unsavoury attitude of Government employees directly to the Chief Minister, Ministers and Department Heads.

The objective of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme is to provide service with dignity to people who are coming to hospitals, police stations and all other government offices for different purposes.

During the random surprise check, patients feedback was taken and a discussion was held with doctors to improve the healthcare system.

Health Secretary Dr Pramod Meherda, OSD, DS Kutey and Additional Secretary to CM Rita Rani Mohapatra visited the Dhenkanal DHH. Additional Secretary to CM Roopa Roshan Sahoo, MD OSMC, Yamini Sarangi and Deputy Secretary to CM Manoj Swain visited Puri DHH. Similarly, OSD to CM Dilip Mohanty, Joint Secretary Health Department, Poonam Guha and Joint Secretary to CM Aditya Mohapatra visited Jajput DHH today.
