Bhubaneswar: The mother of banker Sunil Mishra who was arrested by the police today staged a dharna in front of Chandrasekharpur police station. She said that his son's relationship with the complainant was consensual, so there was no reason for him to be arrested.
The complainant in this case, a lecturer had alleged that Mishra raped and blackmailed her. The duo reportedly met on dating app, Tinder. According to Sunil, both met at his residence some days back and had consensual physical relationship.
In this case, Mishra had filed a case following which male friends of the woman were arrested. However, the girl was not booked. “There relation was consensual. Then why my son has been put behind the bars. I want the girl to be arrested," Mishra's mother said.
Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo said that three associates of the woman have been arrested on the basis of a kidnapping complaint registered by the bank employee.
“After investigation, a case was registered under Section 376 of the IPC in which the bank employee was arrested. After evaluating the evidence, the woman has been served a notice under Section 41 of the CrPC,” he added.
