Cuttack: Two members of a gang who stole expenesive cars by posing as medicine distributors were arrested by Badambadi police on Wednesday.

The arrest of G Sanjeev Kumar Swamy and Sudhanshu Mansingh led to the recovery of three Innova cars and one Honda City which were taken by the duo from different persons.

Police acted on receiving a complaint from one Sunil Kumar Jena whose Innova car was stolen in December 2018 after it was taken on a monthly rent of Rs 38,000 by Sanjeev.

During investigation Badambadi police busted the network of Sanjeev and it was revealed that Sudhanshu used to work as a driver for him. The two cheated number of persons and sold their vehicles in Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.

Further investigation is on to verify their involvement in similar crimes, said Akhilesvar Singh, DCP Cuttack.
