Three Women Behind ‘Success’ Of Cuttack’s Dreaded Criminal Jitu

Cuttack: While notorious criminal Ajay Sahoo alias Jitu was nabbed yesterday, the three women who were accessory to his notoriety were arrested on Monday by the Cuttack Police.

The women were allegedly involved with Jitu in several crimes. Where his mother Kanchan Sahoo guided him, his sister Laxmipriya Mahala and girlfriend Sunita Singh made sure that the stolen goods were effectively dispersed. The trio were also charged with instigating his for crimes.

Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Akhileshvar Singh made the shocking revelations while apprising the media on case updates.

He said, “This family of criminals worked together with mother being the guiding force and sister and girlfriend helping in disposing the loot items. We are investigating on his other family members for their involvement.”

Talking about Jitu and Co’ modus operandi, the DCP said that they mostly targeted finance company’s recovery agents or families passing by isolated areas. This motley was an easy target for them.

“We are planning on strengthening patrolling in Athagarh-Choudwar area,” said DCP Singh.

Jitu and his gang had been active in Cuttack Rural, Dhenkanal, Chaudwar-Barang areas. Yesterday, the Cuttack DCP had said that Jitu had about 16 cases against him. The search for him had intensified after a death during a robbery attempt a few days ago. He was injured in an encounter at Chaudwar yesterday morning and later nabbed.
