Bhubaneswar: City-based Bakul Foundation, following its motto to become the change to bring real change in the world, has been promoting the concept of gifting trees since last 10 years. In view of this, the organisation has come up with a new initiative of associating the act with any memorable event such as a birthday or a festival.

Diwali is such an event to encourage the gifting of plants as bursting of firecrackers during the festival is one of the significant reasons for spike in pollution levels. The planting of trees will help to check the pollution and gifting and planting of trees will help bring in a cultural change.

In order to promote the Green Diwali, the foundation is offering various kinds of trees including medicinal and flowering plants with a complimentary Diwali Gift Hamper which contains hand-painted diyas and handmade chocolates. Interested persons can contact Bakul and book the package at an offer price of Rs 250.
