Nayagarh: In a shocking incident, over 150 teachers refused to evaluate +2 answer copies and staged dharna as Air Conditioner (AC) was not working at the evaluation centre in Nayagarh Autonomous College.

Reportedly, most of the halls in the college have been turned into strong rooms where EVMS are being stored after the polling. Only one Jubilee Conference Hall is available, in which 150 teachers are being crammed into for evaluating +2 answer sheets.

While the AC in the hall was made functional for the first two days, the Principal of the college hid the remote from the third day onwards. Teachers complained that they were not being allowed to turn on the AC as a result of which sweat dripping down from their faces was creating blots on the answer copies and further risking the students’ futures.

Not being able to tolerate the heat, the teacher unanimously decided to stop evaluating the copies and go on an indefinite strike till the issue is resolved.
